Sep 4–7, 2026 Oscars Event 53rd Telluride Film Festival — Telluride keeps its lineup secret until the day before the festival opens, so there's nothing to add to festivals.csv until then.
Sep 10–20, 2026 Oscars Event TIFF 51 — Lineup partially in festivals.csv — People's Choice and other awards land when the festival closes.
Late November 2026 Hall of fame Announcement Class of 2027 semifinalists announced — The 50-person committee cuts the modern-era list to 25 or 26 names.
Early December 2026 Bracket Announcement First NET rankings published — Real resume evaluation becomes possible. Bracket Studio switches off BPI and onto full committee criteria automatically.
Dec 7–11, 2026 Oscars Vote Preliminary voting (shortlisted categories) — Opens 9am PT Dec 7, closes 5pm PT Dec 11.
Dec 15, 2026 Oscars Announcement Oscar shortlists announced
Dec 31, 2026 Oscars Deadline Eligibility window closes — A film needs a qualifying release between Jan 1 and Dec 31, 2026.
Early January 2027 Hall of fame Announcement Class of 2027 finalists announced — 15 modern-era finalists, plus the coach, contributor and seniors nominees.
Jan 11–15, 2027 Oscars Vote Oscar nomination voting — Branch voting. Opens 9am PT Jan 11, closes 5pm PT Jan 15.
Jan 21, 2027 Oscars Announcement 99th Oscar nominations announced
Jan 21–31, 2027 Oscars Event 2027 Sundance Film Festival — Sundance's first edition in Boulder, CO. Runs after the 99th Oscars' own nominations — this is early precursor signal for the 100th Academy Awards (season 2028), not this cycle. Add to festivals.csv as year=2028 rows.
February 2027 Bracket Event Committee meeting and bracket reveal — The committee's in-person meeting, plus the chair's public bracket-reveal appearance.
Super Bowl week, February 2027 Hall of fame Vote Selection meeting and Class of 2027 reveal — 15 finalists cut to 10, then 7. The class is announced at NFL Honors during Super Bowl week.
Feb 10–21, 2027 Oscars Event 77th Berlinale — Runs after the 99th Oscars' final voting closes — like Sundance 2027, this is precursor signal for the 100th Academy Awards (season 2028), not this cycle. Add to festivals.csv as year=2028 rows.
Feb 14, 2027 Hall of fame Event Super Bowl LXI — SoFi Stadium. Anchors the week the Hall of Fame class gets revealed at NFL Honors.
Feb 16, 2027 Oscars Event Oscar nominees luncheon
Feb 25 – Mar 4, 2027 Oscars Vote Oscar final voting — Full membership votes every category. Opens 9am PT Feb 25, closes 5pm PT Mar 4.
Mar 14, 2027 Bracket Announcement Selection Sunday — The first 76-team field and all 16 seed lines get announced.
Mar 14, 2027 Oscars Event 99th Academy Awards — 7pm ET on ABC, from the Dolby Theatre. Same day as Selection Sunday.
Mar 16–17, 2027 Bracket Event Opening Round — 12 play-in games over two days in Wichita, trimming the field to 64.
Mar 18–19, 2027 Bracket Event First Round — The 64-team bracket begins.
Early August 2027 Hall of fame Event Class of 2027 Enshrinement — Canton, Ohio. The Hall has not published the 2027 date yet.
