The Round Robin is a DBA (assumed business name) of Hansell Ventures LLC, an Illinois limited liability company.

What I Collect

Most of the site is free to use with no account. Cross-device saved versions, CSV export, larger Bracket Studio comparisons, the Hall of Fame player database beyond its public preview, and deeper Oscars and Hall of Fame forecast details ask you to create a free account and accept the current Terms first. I don't ask for sensitive personal information in my tools.

If you email me, I receive the information you include in that message (like your email address and any details you choose to share) so I can respond.

Paid plans are not currently offered. If you have an existing subscription or I offer paid access again, your payment information is collected and processed directly by my third-party payment processor. The Round Robin does not store full payment card numbers. I may retain transaction records, such as transaction IDs, billing dates, amounts, payment status, and refund status, for accounting and support purposes.

If you sign in with Google, I store the basic profile information Google provides (your email address, display name, and profile photo URL) in my database (Firestore) to maintain your account. When you accept these Terms, I also store which version you accepted and the date and time you accepted it, so I can tell whether you've agreed to the current version and ask again if it changes.

Former Waitlist and Alpha Access

The Round Robin was in closed alpha through August 2026 and is now in open beta. You don't need an access request or code to use the site. While the alpha was closed, people who submitted their email to request access had that address stored in my database (Firestore) along with the date they signed up, the page they signed up from, and basic referral information (the referring site or link, and any utm_source/utm_medium/utm_campaign/utm_content/utm_term campaign tags present in the link followed). I never recorded IP address, device fingerprint, or browsing history alongside a waitlist entry.

What it was used for. A waitlist email was used for one purpose: to reach out about alpha access. It was never added to a marketing newsletter, never used for advertising, and never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Joining the waitlist never created an account.

Retention. As promised above, waitlist entries were deleted on September 1, 2026 now that the alpha has closed. If you signed up and still have questions about your entry, email me at theroundrobinhelp@gmail.com.

How I Use Local Storage

Some site features save your preferences and tool progress in your browser using localStorage. This data stays on your device unless you choose to share it.

bracketology-slots: saves your brackets and current board assignments so they are still there when you return.
paymon-scores: saves Bracket Performance Calculator calculation results so they are still there when you return.
bracketology-theme: saves your light/dark theme preference.
A few small preference keys (for example, panel sizes, mobile view state, and dismissed tips) that only affect how the tools display for you.

You can clear this data at any time by clearing site data in your browser, or by using reset/clear options in tools when available.

How Data Is Used

I use saved local settings only to provide core features (for example, restoring your bracket board and theme). I don't sell this information.

I may review high-level traffic or performance information to keep the site working, improve features, and fix issues.

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data, including pages visited, time on site, and general location. This data is processed by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Third-Party Payment Processors

Paid plans are currently unavailable. Existing billing records and any future purchase are handled by Stripe, my third-party payment processor. Stripe operates under its own privacy policy. I share only the information necessary to process and support a payment.

Advertising

Display advertising is currently disabled. If I enable Google AdSense later, that network may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about browsing activity in order to serve relevant ads.

I don't share your name, email address, or payment information with advertising networks. Ad networks may independently collect data about your device, browser, and ad interactions under their own privacy policies.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page. You can also adjust your Google ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.

Your Rights and Choices

You can choose not to use tools that store local state. You can also delete browser storage whenever you want.

You can delete your account from the Account page or contact me to request deletion. Account deletion removes the site profile and cancels any Stripe subscription attached to it. Stripe transaction records may still be retained when required for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or other legal obligations.

If you contact me and want your message removed from my records, email me and I will review and process reasonable requests.

If you joined the alpha waitlist and want your email address removed, email me at the address below (see Waitlist and Alpha Access for details).

If you are a California resident, you have rights under California privacy law (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know what personal information I collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes. When behavioral advertising is active on this site, sharing data with ad networks for targeting may qualify as "sharing" under California law. To opt out or exercise your rights, contact me at the address below or use the opt-out links in the Advertising section of this policy.

EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the following applies in addition to the above.

Lawful basis for processing. Where I process personal data, I do so on the following lawful bases: (a) contract: to provide the services you sign up for and process subscription payments via Stripe; (b) legitimate interests: to operate and improve the site, including analytics via Google Analytics; (c) consent: for personalised advertising via Google AdSense, where you have explicitly accepted cookies via my consent banner. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Your rights. Under GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data I hold about you; request rectification of inaccurate data; request erasure ("right to be forgotten") where no overriding legal basis applies; restrict processing in certain circumstances; receive your data in a portable format (data portability); and object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these rights, contact me at the address below. I will respond within 30 days.

Complaints. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your EU/EEA member state if you believe I have not handled your personal data in accordance with applicable law.

Data transfers. This site is operated in the United States. If you access it from the EU/EEA, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Such transfers are covered by the relevant safeguards provided by my third-party processors (Google and Stripe), who participate in approved data transfer frameworks.
